Sugaring Season – Late Winter & Early Spring
There is something happening at the farm every season. Starting in January and February you can watch the process of making maple syrup. Learn how we tap maple trees – turning maple sap into maple syrup.
Springtime
Next, as the season progresses and the days warm you can listen and watch the migratory songbirds arrive in early spring. The hills are truly alive with the sounds of the bird songs.
Summertime
Summer brings a chance for fishing hiking, mountain biking. You can bike here at the farm or enjoy the scenic Rail Trail – and easy 5 miles away. For longer hikes – we’re only about 10 miles from the Journey’s End of the Long Trail and slightly more to the Catamount Trail System. Furthermore the night sky is so clear you can glimpse the milky way while you chase lightning bugs.
Autumn
Autumn will take your breath away with the colors as you watch the hills turn to patchwork quilts. There’s nothing quit as striking as a bright red swamp maple showing her colors. Cool nights perfect for s’mores around the campfire and perfect temperature days for hiking and biking.
Winter
As the leaves fall and autumn fades to winter that leads us to winter activities like snow shoeing and cross country skiing. Hunting, fishing, bird and wildlife watching are just a few of the activities you can enjoy while staying with us.
We also offer tours of our mini farm – come meet Dale and Murphy our mini horse and donkey along with the chickens that provide eggs for your stay! Don’t forget the honey bees!
Private hiking trails will lead you through our woods and fields. Don’t forget your camera!
Maple Sugar Shack – Hipcamp
Bliss Field Campsite
Prefer to rough it a little? We have the Bliss Field Campsite available. You can park your camper, truck/van or pitch a tent. Plenty of room for parking and easy in and out. This campsite is located just off the road near Lucas Brook. It’s a quiet spot between the brook and the field at the edge of the Migratory Songbird Habitat. Easy access to the brook and trails. Complete with a stone fire pit.
Woodsman’s Cabin
Take camping to the next level and stay in our cabin! The Woodsman’s Cabin is located across the brook from our Maple Sugar House. Drive your car right to the cabin. You’re surrounded by trees trees and more trees. Great hiking trails starting just outside the door.
The Woodsman’s Cabin offers a queen size bed, full size pullout couch and a cot. The kitchen has a fridge, hot plate, microwave and basic kitchen necessities. There is a compostable toilet. Charcoal grill and a fire pit available on site.
